When John and Teyla met the first time , the authors have established a kind of seduction game between the 2 characters , through the way John was watching and talking to Teyla or through the scene in the cave when John put the jewel in Teyla's neck .
From this moment I've said to myself that one day there would be something between them!!Put I'm unfortunately still waiting!!

I disagree too with Camiflyz, there is seduction between John and Elisabeth but you don't want to see it...

Oh Come on !

And I'm sorry but the first meeting scenes Elizabeth/John and John/Teyla were completely different.

At the beguinning Weir only wanted Sheppard to join her team because he got a powerful ATA's gene. It was the only reason... And remember Elisabeth was still with Simon at this time ! No way for a ship with her character before season 2 when they break up.
And don't tell me that I see only what I want to see. Here are the facts !

For the JandT it was really different... And I've to quote the cave scene which was the real first scene for the ship

Well of course the two scenes when John meets Elisabeth and then Teyla are differents. I agree, there is seduction between Teyla and JOhn but, there alson seduction between John and Elisabeth, in a different way.

To my opinion , John is "a lover "!!! He is always in a "seduction mode" with women . But What is toot bad as far as I am concerned is that the scenarists have let us hope , from the beginning , that something would happen between John and Teyla in the first episode . But after that nothing , or almost ....

But we are in Stargate.... If you remember we never really have a Jack/Sam ship in the present "reality" (they give us Jarter in the past, in another time-line, etc...)
